I lit these three candles on a mirror, and let them burn until they ran, then snuffed them out, and let them cool. I did this several time to get the flowing of the wax just right. Then I took the photo in low light, to add to the mood, and to use the natural light of the candles as much as I could, causing the tops of them to glow brightly without over exposing them.

With an impossible shot like this, it's important to focus on the 8 ball.
