This was fun! Be sure to VIEW FULL.

View full image for better detail. I really enjoyed this project, since both of these cigarette brands were produced in my hometown, Richmond Virginia. Hope you like my entry.

Learned some interesting stuff while researching this. Names like Allen & Gintner, Duke and the interest in cigarette art. Fascinating stuff with historical significance. Thanks!

Be sure to view full as the contest view isn't too good in comparison to the "big picture". ;)

I eliminated damage, smoothed noise, and chose to keep/restore the original fonts. The full view is 1/2 size the original (which means it's BIG and highly compressed, at 2000 pixels wide), but it was either that or 1/4 size, and all the detail was lost.

The original, of course, retains the full image size.

Full view is 1008x651 px; 200kb in size.

As always, comments, critiques and thoughts are welcomed and appreciated. :)

This small version really doesn't do the full version justice. Lots of detail was lost in compression. Please consider the close match for the boy, replacement of the Carolina Brights label and Fatima label on the bag using lettering from authentic labels. At last count, there were 103 layers!

Fun project! Could touch this one up for months.

Well this is my first shot at restoration and colorization and the original photo peaked my interest. I tried to research to get colors right and tried several techniques trying to restore. High resolution image is 6.18MB.
