Few life forms can survive in the arid wasteland once known as Sweden. The nuclear exchange between Iceland and Eritrea destroyed most neighboring countries. This tasty, ambulatory thistle was genetically designed by a 22nd century geneticist from these archival images. It is alternatively known as an Armachoke or Artidillo. The surviving natives fondly call them Chokadillas. They are a renewable resource and many keep them as pets because of their constant need of cuddling and picking. Best loved with butter. Yum!

I tried to go for that frilled lizard look. (Note: claws replaced with roots; I managed to misplace the source pic for them...I'm sure you guys know what roots look like. ;-))
