The logo is based on the enormous competition element within the software&website sector. Consider it as one large game in which each player tries to win! But there is only one company which can win this game. Distinct is distinctive, brings something extra, and is able, within this limited game, to throw 7 eye's...!

This is a a stand out and distinctive logo.

The graphic, which is a stylized half of a cd can go with the word to form the company name, Distinct, or stand alone and represent the company by itself.

The work files include the vector logo and the font, TW Cen MT, that was used in the creation of this design.

The unconventional and disitnctive first letter "d" reinforces the idea behind the company name and helps distinguish them from the competition.

For my logo proposal I had to consider the following issues:

1. Wordmark or Symbol

A symbol is the iconic portion of a logo and is generally used in established brands (Mercedes' emblem, McDonalds arches, CBS eye etc.) or for companies whose names are bland and generic (Supercool Website Designs Inc, for instance) so it can serve as an emblem for the company, giving it recognition.

Wordmarks however offer immediate recognition - the stylised treatment of the brand name is used for the logo, thus immediatelly associating it with the company. Basically, words carry meaning and are easier to interpret than iconic symbols. This is especially true for short and strong words.

2. Choice of Colors

The field of design and software development is flooded with blue and orange logos. I decided to go for a fresh and distinctive look, therefore choosing a lively green color. The meanings the color green can carry are: fertility, success, growth.

3. Choice of typeface

The best way to make a company indistinctive is to use a ready typeface which is available to anyone. Therefore I decided to use a customized version of Hans Reichel's typeface Sari. The letterforms are softer and friendlier than the commonplace sans serif fonts, adding to the disitnctiveness of the brand.

4. Applications

The logo is designed to look good on any media. It can even work embossed on a a software box or used as big as 90 pixels in GIF format (as shown in my presentation ) for the footer of a web page.
