The Logo represents a stylised compass. That sometimes is needed to find the right trail.
The perspective points to endlessness and vastness as a symbol for freedom. A trail is indicated by the big middle line (interrupted by the triangle), that could also be seen as stylised a road marking.
The green colour picks up the ecological and outdoor point but also freshness, health and youth.

The unique design was created to symbolize the rugged outdoors. The "mountain" background rises to a peak while the center space surrounding the diamond could represent an abstract form of leaf (aspen leaf perhaps). There are many possibilities with the color scheme and looks especially good in black and white. It can also be used with or without the written words. A logo should speak for itself!

Heres a symbol with a strong symbol that represents a trail. (stylized)

What better of a symbol could you use than a trail? I know that the client asked for no cliche images, but making this stylized doesn't make the symbol cliche.

I tried to use simple text so that the symbol would be the main focus of the logo. I didn't want the text to be distracting, Most "outdoor" companies have logos that can stand alone, which is where I was going with this.
