CONTEST DESCRIPTION

In this free contest, your task is to create a logo for Breaknet Radio, a syndicated Christian music radio program.

CLIENT DESCRIPTION
"The show features exciting, loud Christian music geared for teens and young adults. The show's focus is twofold: to introduce listeners to a variety of music (hard rock, hip-hop, electronic) that traditionally does not get airplay on Christian radio, and to proclaim the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. The name Breaknet Radio refers to the calling of the first disciples in Luke 5 where Jesus provides a catch of fish so great that it causes the fishermen's nets to break." MOD NOTE: This (and other rules to follow), are the client's statement, not Worth1000's. Worth1000 takes no religious affiliation.

The client is a small, new company located in Southwest Florida and needs a logo to identify the show. The logo will appear web site, letterhead, business cards, t-shirts or caps, as well as on CDs and their packaging.

PRIZES

  • The top entry the client chooses will receive $90*.

  • The top voting winner will get 100 credits.

CLIENT RULES

  • The logo must include the words "Breaknet Radio". The logo is preferably cAsE sensitive, but it's not mandatory.

  • Feel free to incorporate your own brief (optional) slogan into the logo, if you like. The slogan should be something edgy and fun along the lines of "Crank it up." or "We'll blow out your eardrums" etc...

  • The logo must contain three or fewer colors, no preference as to which.

  • The logo must work well on a white background AS WELL AS one of another color of the artist's choice. Most likely, the web site background will be in that color but the letterhead will be white -- the logo should look great in both places.

  • Entries must not contain gradients and overlapping colors.

  • The Breaknet Radio logo should be representative of the music played on the show: bold, attention-getting, and fun. A simple and fresh design. It should be professionally clean, but also somewhat WILD -- catchy and appealing to young people.

  • It should be representative of a loud, engaging aural experience. It would also be great if it could allude to a powerful God who changes lives, but it should not be churchy, religious, or lame. The general feel is that of a radio show that deviates from traditional CHEESY Christian radio and, simply speaking, rocks the house..

  • The logo may contain any symbols that reflect the show's excitement or purpose would be great, particularly with emphasis on audio, or a dance, concert or party. Some ideas:[ul]
  • A net breaking, perhaps full of fish (refers to the show's name and evangelistic mission)

  • Headphones or a pair of speakers

  • A cross or an ichthus

  • Turntables or a microphone (with a DJ?)

  • A radio antenna

  • A church transformed into a dancehall

  • [your ideas here]

  • Stay away from stuff that represents "high church" or tradition. This is not your parents' music! The client is not looking for script letters, candles, harps, or halos. No crowns or robes. The show's aim is to be relevant to young people who do not attend church, and so those themes should be avoided. Please also stay away from characters unless they are done very well, provided the characters don't appear to be "mascots" for the show.

  • No preference as to font. Just no churchy script. The goal is modern and fresh, not ancient and boring. You must indicate in your comments what font you used

  • Please upload your font to your corporate files area.

  • Before entering this contest you must read this thread[/ul]GENERAL RULES

    • Please upload your vector file (.ai or .eps) or high resolution photoshop files with all layers and elements intact (.psd), to the corporate files attachment area at the time you submit an entry (you will be prompted after uploading your image). Vector preferred (and a large jpg version preferred as well).

    • Please do not enter slight variations of your logo as separate entries. Enter them as a single entry.

    • Please leave some white space at the bottom of your entry so the worth1000 watermark doesn't overlap it.

    • Any questions about what is desired by the client may be sent to corporate@worth1000.com.

    • The client will be granted the full rights to all aspects of the submission of their choice as a work-for-hire in exchange for the prize mentioned above.
