These are hundreds of coloured paper strips, meant for Quilling, or the art of paper filigree. I bought them in an art shop, many years ago, when I still believed I had the patience and talent for this delicate form of art.

In my big drawer of art supplies, these are the one of the first things the children go for when they want to do artwork - they love to cut out what they've painted, and glue it into wonderful collages and things. Therefore scissors are an important art supply in this house.

New colors, ready for the artist's sharpener. Cropped, clarified, edge preserving smooth, unsharp mask. I was going to do the pencil sharpener shaving thing but have seen too many of those recently so just settled for the colors and shapes of the pencils alone. All comments welcome.
My mother in-law used to paint pictures, but she gave up a few years ago. She liked this picture I took so much that she started again.
