Unique symbol meant to represent servers, network, and connectivity. Presented also color suggestions, but may be easily changed according to client's preferences.

The symbol recreates the way the hard drives are located one on top of the other in racks.

The logo conveys feeling of stability and trust which is very suitable for a company offering web hosting

I've designed a symbol that is simple enough to serve as an icon -- i.e. it works as a brand id without any text -- and also convey a classic corporate feeling.

The two ovals can be interpreted literally, as the platters of a hard disk, but also indicate stability and support for the clients' businesses.

The oversize, offset dot adds interest and visual emphasis. It also informs the viewer of the URL of the website without spelling it out simplistically.

Since I really don't know enough about the company to propose a single color combination, I've included two versions, complete with suggestions for website palettes. One is serious, somber and has the gravitas of a major corporation. The other is livelier, riskier and more modern.

Finally, I've also added a handful of variations of the symbol without any text, with and without the dot used as an accent.

Please do not critique my entry.

the symbol can be used alone or/and inserted on text..added there is a logo with the "S" for server.. the colours can be different from these.. maybe a professional, trustworthiness blue theme.. or a strengthen, powerful orange theme to catch the viewers eyes..
here 3 examples from Pantone colours..

The overall shape of the logo device, a sylized "S", is the area enclosed by a sine-wave inscirbed on the vertical diameter of a semi-circular arc. The design is executed by filling the area with nineteen evenly spaced, horizontal paths, each originating at the circumference of the arc and terminating at the sine-wave. Each path then becomes the major axis of an elipse of fixed minor axis.

My original concept was to use the rotational symmetry of this pattern to create a thin "S" at the boundary of two instances (as seen in the first of the "Alternative implementations") but on completion I realized that it may be perceived as somewhat similar to the nine-banded stylized globe of the AT&T logo. To remove this problem I placed a single instance, on complimentary, cirular backdrop so that the rotated shape would be 'implied' in the empty space. I then realized that a non-circular backdrop with the same off-center positioning wouild still allow the second shape to be "implied" and result in a far more striking, quirky and memorable logo.

I include the original concepts here to show the evolution of the final design, and in case one of them is actually preferred by the client.

The symbol tries to make a hint for the cylinder inside the hard drives which are probably the most important asset in the web hosting business, with a stylized S on top of it to make the symbol unique and personal.
