This piece is conveying my feelings about emotional abuse. When someone has been traumatized repeatedly by past events, but is still innocent and hopeful.

This is one of those reasons why I do not wish to join the armed forces!! I don't think I'd make it through basic training!!

The female figure is trying to relax without being overwhelmed.
Our emotions can be as complicated as our lives.

This piece was made using collagraph and monotype printing for the texture and color, and charcoal drawing for the image of the girl.
