I tried to restore this photo keeping in mind that the original wouldnt have been crystal clear as film back then wasnt that great. So I tried to keep some of the graininess etc

I was a little confused about the right hand side. I couldn't determine what exactally was there. It sorta looks like an elephant with his trunk under the mans arm, but then again it looks like he's carrying a gun strap, or possibly a newspaper... So I pretty much left it alone and just adjusted the colors. I also replaced his missing button. It was hard not to tone it for that aged look.. hope you like

As good as new.

Thanks for your comments

...you're really a square. ;)
He looks a little like a cross of Teddy Roosevelt and Dr. Phil.

2nd post - please leave me comments/suggestions. I used mostly healing brush and cloning-what are people's favorite tools for resurecting?
I liked the color of the stains on the original, so I hope a little coffee/sepia tone doesnt count off for colorizing. Despite having no experience with needle and thread I tried sewing him on a new button (although I doubt it fell off the original picture).

Deep down inside us there is good?

I'm quite pleased with my first ever restoration attempt. It's not as easy as it seems. I'm not very happy with the hands but that's how they appear in the original so I guess it'll need to suffice :(

heh, I also 'restored' his missing button!
