First time posting an image to the forums. Not too sure if I have the correct code but here goes.

Been trying to practice long exposures at night. Seems as though I can never get a sharp image. Either I should have spent more money on a tripod or there's some other factor of which I am unaware.

I did have to do some tone mapping on it to get foreground detail, mostly because I don't own any ND grads yet. It's very high on my to buy list. Mapped from a single raw file though.

I'm thinking I'm gonna try my luck with it at this upcoming exhibition they are having at our local gallery. It's free entry and they do the printing, so why not!

Great idea practice :-)
It would be even better if the camera was a bit lower so that you didn't merge with the tree in the background. Also if your head was directly inline with the sun I think there would be more of a rim-light on you.

ha thanks for the tips:) should help me in the future.

You should really have a tripod and a remote trigger for that. Unless you are a 3 ton block of granite. :) Or, you can set your camera up on a 3 ton block of granite when shooting.

Used a remote trigger. I thought of two other factors that may have affected the image, though. The tripod was setup shooting out the second floor window of my house and I was thinking that perhaps walking around while the shutter was open sent vibrations through the floor. Plus, I've read something about the mirror lock up feature. Doesn't seem as though that would affect it but I'll have to look into that further.

I like how natural and at ease they seem... like the desaturated look too. Now you got to start doing more! :-)

Yet another sunrise. I was mucking about with some strange color effects here.

When you've had enough of the kids, you can just fold them up...

and stack them somewhere out of the way.

Saw this Chinese Acrobat troupe at a festival today. Talk about bendy!

Just checking for bunions on the back of my heels...

If only I had a corner left to put the stack in ;)

I love the second shot! Very mysterious... If only the line where green starts is a bit lower... Great image anyways! :)

Two pictures

I don't get the first one, why is it compressed vertically like that? I think it would look pretty cool if the aspect ratio were normal.
