I see what you mean now about not trying to wipe out the background completely. I'll be trying again when the next guitar is done!Beautiful shots with nice dof.
Wow, that is a magical shot! Perfect for this season, and the next, and the next, and the next, and the next. :P
This was a shot that almost got instantly deleted, but I decided I kind of liked it...
Was playing with my new lastolite collapsible black velvet background. Absolutely great, seems to absorb light, but I had to watch the youtube video several times to work out how to actually collapse the blasted thing! Provided much amusement for Marie and the cats! :-D
Craigr, you should get your lens checked, I am noticing a barrel distortion that is gradually increasing month by month :D
Thank You, I think I really am going to make some cards for next year, doubly happy because I was told I got a similar photo printed in a local newspaper today, yet to see a copy, I email them but had no reply.
Thanks, I will make some next year for sure.
Some pictures I have taken yesterday at the Odysseum in Cologne can be found here .
Sunrise on my way to work this morning shot with cell phone
Yeah, I'd noticed that as well. :-) Think its an excuse to buy a new lens? I can just see the conversation now...Me: Darling, this chap on worth1000 says my lens is bust, so I need to buy an expensive new F2.8 wide angle zoom...Wife: Hmmmmm. Let me think about that one...:-DMerry Christmas everyone!

When you become a parent your life changes. In the future it is no good looking for an 'excuse' for some expenditure, it must be justified in terms of the benefits for the children. Try something like:"Darling, just think how much better our baby shots would look if they were taken with a constant f2.8 lens".Then as a clincher you could throw in:"The extra bokeh will hide all the mess in the background."
She was having so much fun today.
I didn't manage the 12 hours of Christmas, but this one wasn't bad.
I was trying for an internal glow kind of thing.
My wife has some immortal geraniums (15+ years old) that bloom year round, even during the Christmas blizzard.
From the walk. That last one is what I was capturing when Min was taking the dual portrait of us :]
See that huuuuuuuge smile on my face? :DAnd I love the one of my son. :D
C-frawg, I really like it! The glow worked out. :)
With your new lens? Nice.
Well done everyone! That's it for 2009! The new thread has now been opened for 2010!Happy New Year to all!
