I bet THAT got your attention! :DAnd I did not even lie! Yes, it's true. Who needs Multimedia Admins? Power to the People! Will of the Worthians, rule! Sigh no more, oppressed creatures, bound by the unyielding hand of the omnipotent Admins! Stop your wailing and moaning, trying to squish your already fickle creativity into the iron-hard rules of contests decided by some faraway, imposing figure. Now YOU decide!Illustration Revolution was yesterday. Today is CODE:CONTEST DEMOCRACY!That's right. You are going to decide what the next multimedia contest is going to be.Here are the rules:- You will have seven (yes, seven!) contests to choose from. The first five came from Mlti Staff. Six and seven were the lucky winners who sent the first PMs to me.- Each contest will be named in one of the seven following posts, along with a short description.- "Like" the contest you want to be run next by clicking the little heart next to the contest. When the heart turns red, you have cast your vote. You can "like" as much as you like. Just keep in mind that if you click all seven, your votes turn nil. Try to decide!- The contest with the most hearts will be run next.Come and play. Today is CODE day!Voting is closed! The winner Paper Sculptures with 17 votes! Contest is open!
1. Paper SculpturesYour task is to craft something out of paper. You can use any sort of paper, but nothing else.Exception from this rule is the stuff to keep the paper together, like glue or thread, as long as its NOT visible. Any sorts of paper art are allowed: Origami, Kirigami, quilling, or even papier mach, paper cutouts or any other crazy thing that you can think of.Vote here (like this posting by clicking on the little heart to the right) for paperish dreams!
2. Coffee DrawingsThis is sort of an illustration-multimedia crossover contest. Illustration because you shall draw. Multimedia because you will not use colors. You will use coffee instead! See this link if you don't understand what that means.Vote here (like this posting by clicking on the little heart to the right) for extra cafeine goodness!
3. LEGO SculpturesVery easy: Make a sculpture. Subject is up to you. Use LEGO blocks. ONLY LEGO blocks. No pre-made LEGO figurines, animals, vehicles, fancy bionicle blocks or whatnot. Just plain lego will do. The bigger ones for smaller kids are allowed, though (did you know you can combine both sizes?). Vote here (like this posting by clicking on the little heart to the right) to let our your inner child!
4. Five-Dollar ArtMake a sculpture consisting of items you purchased at the local Dollar Store. Dollar Stores or any other sort of cheapso-stores around the world apply. Go to the store and buy items for five dollars (five euros or whatever equivalent). Make a sculpture of those, abstract or not.Vote here (like this posting by clicking on the little heart to the right) to turn cheapo into precious!
5. Cartoon Cutout SculpturesCreate a 3-D sculpture by cutting one (or more) characters from a pulp novel cover, comic book, warehouse catalogue, newspaper magazine or whatever printed thing you can find containing pictures. Arrange them into a three-dimensional scene of your liking.Vote here (like this posting by clicking on the little heart to the right) to turn two dimensions into three!
6. Semi-Abstract Sculpture (as submitted by Bundles, congrats on being the first to PM!):This is wide open to you creativity. You can use any material you like to form any subject you like. But it should be semi-abstract. If this one gets elected, feel free to pester Bundles with questions as to what semi-abstract exactly means. Vote here (like this posting by clicking on the little heart to the right) to let out the creative genius in you, and go wild!
7. Mobils out of found objects (As submitted by EyEars, congrats on winning the second slot!):Make a mobil. The objects you will use (apart from the strings and sticks to suspend the items) have to be objects you found (or that can be found). Natural objects like stones, shells, pieces of wood, leaves, but also things that people threw away, like empty cans or crumbled paper. Apart from found or findable objects, you may use nothing except the string and twigs to suspend the mobil.Vote here (like this posting by clicking on the little heart to the right) to suspend regular things in midair, and make them into art!
I've been thinking of suggesting a semi-abstract sculpture contest. For example: something recognizable as a tree, but not so much that someone could say, "That looks like an oak."Subject matter could be anything, as could materials. Just as long as the result can be generically recognized as a/an *insert object here*.

If you send me this in a PM, the 6th slot will be yours. :)(If no one else was faster, of course)
Done.
I won't tell you if you were first. :)(Because all of the contests you can vote for will be posted together). The seven contests will be set up for election in several hours. Stay tuned.
Can we vote soon? :P
How many can we vote for Min?
Is this for the multimedia side only? Does it cover the illustration stuff? Does it replace and do away with the Illustration Revolution contest type?
I would guess you could 'like' as many as you wanted. But if you click on the wee heart next to all seven, then you will effectively cancel out all your likes.
Yes this is MM only and it does not replace the REVOLUTION option which we will continue to offer even though we got divorced from Illo now.
I agre with John. We are just beginning with this, so let's keep true to the revolutionaty aspect.Yes, you can "like" as much as you like.
YES! :D
No, this is only happening in the Multimedia Arena. Stay tuned, though, perhaps there will be something you like. :)
