Yeah, whenever I get grumpy about not being able to ride many of the trails there I should remember that I'm lucky to live so close to such a great landscape. The bird is the NZ Wood Pigeon and the photo was taken just down the valley in the middle ground of the second photo. It's the other side of the hill depicted in my avatar. :-)
Beautiful shot Marian, it makes me glad to be in the middle of summer, even if it is raining today.I love the wide angle of your shot Siglov. It makes me wish I had a 10-20mm zoom so I could get such a wide angle, although I still wouldn't be able to get such great shots!
I surprised this youngster on my walk this afternoon.
Ahhh...great shot.
I always get sent up to cold northern places in the winter for work. For once, I got a brief reprieve and got to go to Dubai for a week...
The just-opened world's tallest building can be seen in the background of the first shot about 1/3 of the way from the left. Now it's back to the snow for me...
Now why didnt you enter that in Winter Landscapes?!Beautiful. Very meerkat-ish in style.
Lovely, IM. I love the minimaslism. A very grown-up picture.

Wonderful
Beautiful sky.
Lovely photo Harry - you really caught it staring at you very well :-)It's a shame you cut off the bottom of its legs though :-(
My son, as of today. :)
Very nice.
My son would be jealous of that hair. He is trying to grow it long again after having it cut this summer.A couple of pictures of frost.
And a picture of wild turkeys in a field.
I really like the bleakness of the last one. Did you postprocess much? And Joshua had long hair since he's three. He always wanted it long.
I just colour corrected and cropped some foreground distractions out.Wonderboy's hair has been everything from next to bald to long enough to braid. He used to cut his hair in a mohawk every summer and has died his hair green (several times) and red and blue. He is trying to get back to ponytail length.
Foggy outside last night...
Clive, that sure is spooky! And Min, your son sure is his mother's child. He's got the same look in his eyes as you have. Here is my daughter as of today:
Have you by any chance seen Hitchcock's "Rear Window" ???
HeHE, I was going to mention Hitchcock as well, awesome shot though, and great rule of thirds as well as exposure.I like Marians portrait as well.Meanwhile, I am finding myself corrupted by Mrs A., I keep seeing faces everywhere:
LOL ercolano, your happy face made me chuckle.Marian, that's a stunning portrait of your daughter. I love the catchlight in the eyes. Is that using flash? Otherwise I'd expect her pupils to be smaller. Here's today's berry harvest from our tiny garden:
