Could anyone tell me how the upload darker and red images without loosing all of the details? I "save for webservices" there I see the image already a bit darker and more saturated as I inteded it to be. But after uploading the image it seems worse?
In Photoshop under the View menu, if you select Proof Setup and Mac or Windows RGB, you should be seeing exactly what you'll see when you Save for Web. I usually work in Macintosh RGB mode so that I can make adjustments to things as I work and not be surprised at the end.
Thank you Pixel, I was just wondering the same thing, I keep uploading an edited version that ends up wahed out, and loses all the shadows.
change red to burgandy and most of your problems go away. Furthermore, knowing that dark and red are going to look bad, just avoid them.

Thx, I'm going to try that.
There is a details app on PSE8 called pearly whites. I have been through trial and error trying these different filters so that the details of the shadows and the highlights don't get lost in the jpeg- reduced web version. You may have to balance the dark details with the white filter. You could try and see if this is something that would help you too.
Thx, I'm also going to look for that.
I calibrated my monitor a few weeks ago. I used a Colorvision Spyder2Express.I ended up with u much more warmer colkortone overall and higher contrast. When i work on my chops, all looks great. But when i save for web, all my vivid colortones are gone.I didn't notice it much when i saved my piece for the B2B Trolley contest. But when i look again now, there surely is a big difference.A few days ago, when i was about to submit my entry for the coloring contest, i was in chock. My entry was desaturated a lot!!So i had to adjust a lot of layers to correct this. And now i'm having the same problems with my dragon. There are about 100 layers i'll have to revisit now.But finally, thanks to the advice given here, i'll have a clou how to solve my problems:After i selected Proof Setup | Monitor RGB , i saw the colors change exactly to the colors i got with save to web.And i thinks you'le have to activate Proof Colors as wel.So a warning to everybody to have these settings set correctly.
