I must say the theme for round 2 will cause serious braintweaking and hopefully some jawesome photos. :)Good luck everyone!I have a question: May we interpret dreams as in ... Nightmares?
I thought shallow DOF was a nightmare already ! :) Good luck to me and insomnia to my adversary ! :)

The contest rules state:something too trippy to be real. It's up to you! All we ask is that you include some element of surrealism or "not-quite-right"-ness to make it clear we're talking about a dreamNightmares could definitely fall within this category. But we want the surrealism. The weirdness that dreams can bring. This is not a horror contest.

I knew that, but to be honest, my dreams are very often nightmarish, and pretty horrifying.I seldom dream sweet stuff... :(But surreal, you say??? No problem!
No one said it has to be sweet...
I never have nightmares. My problem is the SFW rule :D
LOL... you lucky b*****d. :D
I have an issue with the stress on surrealism though :( My idea has no surrealism notion to it but I can guarantee EVERY viewer will instantly recognize it as a dream. To explain what I mean think of a little kid on a toy car staring in awe at a real Ferrari ! No surrealism but the message the boy is dreaming is so patent ! Bob
According to the rules:
kimbomac saidsurrealism or "not-quite-right"-ness to make it clear we're talking about a dream
That is your task - however you decide to fulfill it...
I'm excited!
I can imagine, with your last shot you would kick everyones hiney for this theme :)
rjalex saidNo surrealism but the message the boy is dreaming is so patent !
If the boy was dreaming then he would be driving the Ferrari and winning a race in it and not just "thinking" about owning one one day. I don't think this theme is about aspirational dreams - but rather the weird stuff that we imagine when we're asleep ;-)
SigloV saidI don't think this theme is about aspirational dreams
If that's what Bob wants to do I think he should - Go Bob Go, Go Bob Go :)
Good luck, guys!
Yeah I get it ... sometimes something gets lost in translation from your language to mine :)
Thanks for the encouragement ! lol

If this is the case then why do the rules say Take a photo of a dream or wish you had? Using the word wish surely implies something you aspire too???
double post :-(
Andromeda5000 saidTake a photo of a dream or wish you had
That should read a photo of a dream you had or wish you had. i.e., you wish you could have this kind of cool dream...I will go and change that.

Think they'd let us just enter our 1st round photos? LMAO
some jawesome photos
Is that like in jaw dropping?
jawdropping+awesome = jawesomeDo you have to be Norwegian to understand that? :P
I work a lot with the wording of requirements for air traffic control systems where the meaning must be totally unambiguous. English is a terrible language because just about every word has a double meaning!I think the wording should probably be..."Take a photo of a dream you have had, or a dream you wish you could have"
Or like, you know, we could focus on the photography.
Since I can't access the contests, could someone please post the exact rules for the dream hxhs. I want to re-read them but I can't :(
