Here is the place to discuss iPhones, iPod Touches and iPads. Post your favorite apps & games, talk about the cover on your iPhone, questions/problems...whatever.Some of my favorites apps:Photosynth - A cool app for making panoramas:http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photosynth/id430065256?mt=8 Halftone - Make any image into a comic strip http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/halftone/id419957803?mt=8 Startracker 4s - Perfect for stargazing. Quite impressive.http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/startracker-for-iphone-4s/id482378748?mt=8 Games:DropZap - incredibly addicting gamehttp://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dropzap/id338490375?mt=8 (My current high score is 65,010)Temple Run - well made gamehttp://itunes.apple.com/us/app/temple-run/id420009108?mt=8 (My current high score is 41,006, I suck)...as for covers, I have an Otterbox Defender on my phone. It's rather bulky, but I prefer the peace of mind.
Stanza for reading ebooks. It connects with Calibre on the PC to make it easy to store and load your library. Free.Grocery Gadget for shopping lists. My wife and I both have it, and when I stop at the store I can see everything we've both added to the list. My wife had an amazing app called HandyShopper on the Palm, and it had a real cult following, but the guy has vowed never to write an iOS version. This is the next best thing.Solebon is the best card solitaire out there. Bar none. There's a free version that only has 7 games as opposed to the dozens in the paid version.Dungeon Raid is a game I wasn't sure about, but loaded it on a recommendation and now I am a junkie. It's like Bejewelled meets WoW. Also has a free version (and I haven't really seen the point in upgrading).I've been recently intrigued by Robotek. A different little game, but hard to put down. Artistically pretty, too. Free, but in order to get far you need to pay for upgrades. Worth it for the early free parts.Hard Lines is a great Tron Lightcycle clone, with lots of different play modes, easy controls and cool career options. Free.Robot Wants Kitty is a platformer. I hate platformers. I love Robot Wants Kitty. Free.My kids love CrossFingers. I played it to death and am done with it, but I recommend it. A sliding puzzle game that can't be put down. $0.99I'm almost embarrassed to say, but I am TOTALLY RABID about Ninja Fishing recently. It's a stupid game. I know it is. But I just can't stop playing it. Free.Waze is a turn-by turn GPS that's free. It has all sorts of other features, like you can see other Waze users on the map and report traffic and all that, but whatever. It's a free turn by turn gps!Alien Blue lets me keep up with my Reddit obsession no matter where I am. Free.I used ABCNotes to make up a lock screen that has relevant information on it (my air miles number, a IF FOUND CALL phone number, that sort of thing. I just made up a page of notes using their cool tools, then screenshotted it and made it my lock screen. Free.I use Tacts to easily put all my contacts into groups so I can give them distinct rings and stuff like that. I don't have anything on my PC to sync with, so this helps me manage them on the phone. Free.I also love Calculus Doodlus. It's a calculator that lets you use your own handwriting for the display. Also lets you keep pages and pages of history of calculations, whcih is handy in renovations and woodworking.I have this Lost Dog yellow leather case. I love that it feels soft like leather, and that it is aging and getting nice worn-in feel to it. It was pretty cheap compared to some of the others I looked at too.Wow, that was way longer than I thought it would be when I started...
My biggest problem is that I hate iTunes with a passion, and MediaMonkey (my preferred PC music manager) hasn't managed to crack the IOS5 code yet, so I haven't been able to sync my music for months.Does anyone else use something other than iTunes to manage their music and sync?
Mister_IQ said...I hate iTunes with a passion, and MediaMonkey (my preferred PC music manager)...
^5 to that. iTunes is crap.I must say, as much as I like Waze, unless you are "lurking" it's very dangerous if you want to report a cop or traffic or whatever. That's best left to a copilot.
+ in reply to...
Heh. I don't think there's even another person in Winnipeg using it, so reporting doesn't do anything. The traffic reports are all empty. I just use it for directions. :)

I won't have an iPhone till some time next month, but I have an iPod touch. I really only use it for my music, quicky checks of stats, forums, etc & Call of Atlantis when I'm bored. However, when I DO get my phone, I plan on getting Hipstamatic and Halftone immediately. Also, for our trip in March. :D
That's unfortunate. If only there were some type of mobile device that used an open-source operating system with the ability to transfer files to and from a personal computer freely without the use of restrictive software.

There are so many cool apps for iThings that just never get ported to Android. Makes me wish I could afford an iThing. :((Can I stay here if I make my Android look bad?)
MyPantone is a terrific iPhone app.Intellicast HD is much better on the iPad than on the web.Plants vs Zombies. Nuff said.Time Warner Cable TV is a great iPad app if you have Time Warner. For in-home viewing only!iBird Explorer is an awesome app for birders. You Don't Know Jack is the classic trivia game - even better on the iPad!The History of Jazz is copacetic![Edited by User on 1/10/2012 9:36:52 PM]

Can anyone recommend a good GPS program for geocaching type purposes?

T has a LifeProof case. He really likes it, not too bulky. It's on the expensive side, but he actually nutted up & took it in the shower to see what would happen & not a speck of water made it in.Personally, I'm too girly for that case & just want a normal one. :D
