Apple products are much loved, and for good reason, but it's workers in China who are paid an average of 13 cents an hr to work 12-36 hrs in a row, sometimes till their spines fuse. The NYTs just reported that Apple's yearly profit from each worker is $400,000. The only way Apple will spend some of it's 100 BILLION profit to better the lives of it's workers is for that situation to impact their brand. Their phones, etc. are the source of such pleasure, and come from grotesque pain. Why not a contest illustrating that, and help Apple become a company that supports fair and humane treatment of human beings, a company that we can be proud of?[Edited by User on 2/6/2012 1:01:33 PM][Edited by User on 2/6/2012 1:01:59 PM][Edited by User on 2/6/2012 1:02:34 PM]
Do we get pre-paid entry if it is done on a Mac? :)
As we all know, Apple is the only company that exploits workers.
That same factory turns out Dell and HP products.
Nice Nikes Exaspy.
I only use free-range computers.
I don't believe it. I think FriskySloth has an agenda. Oh wait, I found a picture of him, this explains a lot:

Yes, but the workers can afford those.
I'm not sure that "If Foxconn ruled" has that certain Je ne sais quois that Worth is famous for.
13 cents an hour is not that bad for chinese wages, it's actually pretty average, and in small rural areas, it's a fair amount. THe average chinese person makes 200-300 dollars a month. I as a valuable foreign worker was making 1000, which made me regarded quite rich there. Trouble is you see thirteen cents as not enough to buy anything, whereas 13 cents is enough to buy a lunch of pork and noodle soup for 2-3 people at a local place
Well, gosh, that doesn't sound so bad at all! You should explain to them how good they have it; I'm sure they'd stop killing themselves.
Not saying things are great, just that not everything the media prints is as bad as they would lead to to believe.Yes, the factories can be pretty awful places, but so many anti-China things in the papers are so transparently made to make the country look bad, it's really disgusts me after having lived in the country for almost three years, not just in big cities. And of course, no one in America commits suicide over their job, or lack of it.GOd knows I've had some pretty awful jobs in Canada where I was abused, worked more then 48 hours in a row for minimum wage, was blackmailed into working for less then minimum wage, or had to endure conditions where I was exposed to god knows how many deadly diseases in the course of a day.CHina isn't the only country with bad working conditions.

Amen sister. I hate hate hate when my boss interrupts me when I'm trying to play Angry Birds.

I know, right? Why just last week, 150 factory workers here in Minnesota threatened mass suicide over working conditions!Oh, no, wait. Sorry. That was Foxconn.13 cents an hour might buy you a decent meal -- but when you live, work and dine inside the confines of the Foxconn compound, working 12-hour days, often seven days a week, you're not likely going out to eat anyway; you're spending your precious lunch and dinner hours at the ginormous cafeteria, giving some of your wages back to Foxconn.

Sounds like my job here in the US
