My Dog by whazzat
1st place entry in Nesehehame vs. whazzat

Whenever I leave my dog in the car
She moves into the driver's seat.
But then, when I try to hand her the keys,
She stares and she whines for a treat.
If I give her a treat she just chews it and then
She looks back and whines all over again
Then I push her aside and just wonder when
She'll finally drive me home.

The squirrels outside in the yard like to tease
My dog as they bound along up in the trees
It just takes one whiff of them on a light breeze
And she's hopelessly hopeful and chasing.
"You simply can't climb," I've tried to explain.
But it seems my advice she just cannot retain.
I've watched her in wind, cold, snow, sleet, and rain
Around the trees panting and pacing.
