Author's Note:

“Antique Medicine Bottle” I believe that when glass is lit properly, it can produce beautiful shadows within itself. In my opinion, glass is one of the hardest subjects to paint realistically due to light and shadows. There are just so many light reflections and shadows, that making it still appear transparent becomes difficult. I think I did pretty well on this one though. I’ve painted illustrations of glass a few times before but never with a yellow light source like this. I was curious of how it would turn out.

I only wish I could've shot it better. It looks more realistic on the canvas.

This was painted in 10% acrylic and 90% oils. The acrylic was the yellow that I covered the canvas with. I then sprayed it with clear spray paint and laid down the oils over top. If anyone wishes the details on how I painted this, just message me. I would be happy to send you the details. I’m open to all comments on this piece.
