Alien Abduction by ILoveVarting
15th place entry in Bonus: Poetry - Etheree

Here
I try
To sleep in
Tranquility
But something scary
Is watching or coming
I try in vain to resist
Its overpowering presence
But to no avail, now I can see
It’s materialising before me

It is part ethereal part solid
In the shadows I see someone there
It cannot be a dream this time
But I will not remember
I never remember
The following day
When the sun shines
The birds sing
They were
Dreams

But
Right now
I lay here
Awake, aware
Lurking in my room
A creature sentient
Does it have no emotions?
So it does seem always to me
Now I can sense it’s companions
Swarming the dark room just out of my view

He advances to me as though drifting
They don’t seem to walk just as we do
The half-moon light from the window
Shines his deformed cranium
I lay numbly in panic
And watch helplessly
Can’t close my eyes
To block his:
Those orbs
Huge

Pitch
Jet black
Though I know
They are not his
They are a cover
For his alien eyes
To survive this dimension
His thoughts now infect me like AIDS
And my own are no longer sacred
He pre-empts any thought of escaping

He repeats platitudes meant to ease me
As I feel myself float from the bed
I feel pixellated and sick
Nauseated he takes me
Through the walls of my room
Out into the night
The lawn below
Pulls downward
I float
Up

Steel
Coloured
Is the room
I am now in
Atop a table
Laying on my cold back
It is gelid and my eyes
They can’t focus properly here
Though unambiguously I see
Alien figures surround me in haste

With ugly speed their tiny little hands
Prod me, poke me, and move me around
The only sound a scurrying
Of feet and hands in motion
A sharp pain deafens me
My mind swims and sinks
I welcome it
Departure
Escape
Rest

Here
And now
Much later
It is daytime
But I remember
Unlike all times before
What happened to me last night
The cause of my headache as though
I had been in a fight with a bear
And I walk out into the green garden

I sit and smoke in the brilliant sun
And think to my captors in hatred
“I know who you are now you scum”
But I still don’t know how I
May stop their intrusions
Those awful dwarf men
Who rob from me
Sleep and rest
And test
Me
