Black and white,
with skin so tight.
They swim the ocean blue.
Largest of the dolphin clan, this I know is true.
Fierce predators of the sea,
little creatures beware of thee.
Social creatures, they stay in groups.
Better organized than monkey troops.
They speak and hunt in solid packs,
leaving no clue or path to track.
They stick together and raise their young,
diving and swimming out in the sun.
They surface and frolic to their delight,
while humans regard them with a kind of fright.
Something so large and with such sharp teeth,
leave humans trembling like a leaf.
Sweet creature of the blue,
we have nothing to fear from you.
Humans are not on your menu list,
unless they dare to raise their fist.
Caged and lonely away from the blue,
your mind feels trapped and so are you.
It weighs heavy upon your soul.
You, stuck in a tank, that's more like a bowl.
You struggle and you fight to be free,
I would struggle if it were me.
A few got hurt along the way,
but you found, you could not stay.
To capture one that is so large,
to pen them in without a charge?
They do no harm, they are gentle beasts.
Leave them to their quiet feasts.
Release them to the wild blue sea,
leave them alone, let them be.
Free is how they are meant to live,
not held in a cage as a captive.
