Author's Note:

This is page 14, Chapter III from "The Double Life" by Gaston Leroux

Men at Work
-----------

Strange, they were occupied with their own
Anxiety pretended to satisfy a superficial interest
Leaning over the balcony of the happenings of yesterday
Gossiping rang with the shouts of the world
People just lived the same play
Every day papers on a restless bad dream
Perspiring and restless breathing appeared a definite resolution
Engraving mixing formalities
The result of the habit of lying deeply engrossed over them, and traced by the same hand.
