Werewolf by BonnySaintAndrew
1st place entry in Bonus: Poetry - Monorhyme 2

Naked, cold, in moonlight shine,
In forest thick with snow on pine,
My skin so cold, but I resign
Myself to pain and fear, to dine
On flesh, the curse of my bloodline.

Electric fire runs down my spine,
The rippling pain of change, a sign
Of coming transformation - mine.
I'll leave this human shell so fine,
And run free in my form lupine.

I fear when earth and moon align,
A new shape shall my bones assign,
The hair and fur grow long, entwine,
And teeth grow sharp in my jawline,
My temperament no more benign.

To hunt and murder feels divine,
To run and kill, to howl and whine,
My aspect changed to more canine -
Not man or wolf, both shall combine;
The day is yours; the night is mine.
