Author's Note: Spotted this redhawk in an Arizona National Park. As I was ready to take the shot, it took flight coming straight at me. I felt like a deer in headlights...completely mesmerized. I held the shot until I thought the bird would notice me and change path. As a result, I have now this gorgeous, literally "in your face", portrait. A moment later, probably hearing the shutter, the bird turned left and flew away. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to come this close to a wild animal.
