Author's Note: I put a bit of a manga spin on my illustration of the Snow Maiden (from Russian folklore).
I painted her in Photoshop CS5, no references used. The snowflake jewelry and all the sparkles/snowflakes were created using brushes native to PS. I tried to create a skin tone that was very cool and fitting of a snow princess, but one that was not lifeless at the same time. I hope I achieved that goal. I really enjoyed working on this, and I'm actually quite pleased with the way she turned out (which is unusual for me, I am my own worst critic).
