The original painting is The Serenade by Eugene de Blaas

These ladies have switched to synthetics.

Invention used is the spools of nylon the ladies are now using to knit. (September 20, 1938 Patent #2,130,948 was granted for "synthetic fiber" (nylon) to Wallace Carothers)
