Mr. Halloway had always liked his name. Whenever he had to type it, which was quite often, all of the letters were right next to each other.
Of course, back when he was in school, his classmates had always pretended he wasn't even alive because of it. He'd always shrugged it off, and tried to think of a snappy comeback, but nothing unpleasant ever seemed to rhyme with any of the other kids' names.
Since then, he'd started a very successful mattress company with his own name. They occasionally ran specials based on the color, and the commercials practically wrote themselves. A lot of people bought into them because it didn't matter if they spilled a bit of wine on it.
Yes, he certainly liked his name, but this was something entirely different. He'd recently ordered a new set of business cards, and they had just arrived. They all had a "u" smack in the middle of his first name.
Darcy Jones, the secretary, walked in and demanded to see the new business cards.
"All of the delivery guys were hysterical about it, and if you don't tell me what it is, I'll just have to use my imagination."
Mr. Halloway thought about this. Miss Jones was certainly the type to make up something dreadful and start a rumor that would surely travel around the entire business. On the other hand, not many rumors could be worse than these new business cards.
"Fine. But if you tell anyone, remember that I do have the ability to fire you without cause."
"Understood." She read the card and struggled to hold in a laugh. "So... would you like me to lay down before I tell you about my mother?"
