Easter Haiku

Easter in Juneau--
Bunnies hide popsicle eggs;
Polar bears rejoice

We winced as she ate
What she had finally found
That last egg in June

Today we rejoice
In awe of resurrection
Christ the Lord has come

On a dark day, death
On third day, resurrection
Everlasting life

My girl hunts for eggs
Toddling through my house with glee
On her first Easter

The kids hunt for eggs
But they wont find any here
I ate them all. Burp!

By the lotus pond
I brush the dirt off your cheeks...
One more egg to go!

Warm buttery scent –
hot cross buns and simnel cake.
Memories of youth.

The Lord has risen
so Man-kind can be reborn
Our sins forgiven

Fluffy lambs and ducks
got real drunk at bunny's hutch,
he dyed them all pink.

I don't paint the eggs
In fact, I do not have to
I just use last year's

Family fun time,
treasure hunts, hidden prizes -
Egg-citing Easter.

There's dye everywhere -
Except the egg. Two-year-olds
dying eggs - Bad idea!

Didn't Jesus die
and reappear or something?
It's all candy, now.

The sun is rising
Everyone is dressed up
In pastels and white

Jesus lived to die
Upon the cross, crucified
Rose that I might live

In go colored dyes
In go eggs for color rich
Out come memories

Colored eggs lay in
the grass. Children skip as they
place them in baskets.

The easter bunny
Basket full of suprises
Yummy treats for all

Birches getting green
Easter is already here
It's almost summer!

Vernal equinox
After which the first full moon
Sunday is Easter

Colorful bunnies
Recite their last prayer and jump
In my cozy mouth

Plastic easter grass
tiny jelly beans with spots.
Bite off bunny's ears.

Christ died for our sins
His Friday was not so good
Hop goes the bunny

I sing the bunny
electric who chews lamp cords
and leaves hard boiled eggs.

All that egg laying,
And yet arsi still has time:
To DQ my Chops

The hunt nears it's end.
The scent of finality
Last egg! two weeks late.

Joyful song for You
Miracle greeted with nails
But honored with praise.

How great thou thunder
From Lofty Mountain Grandeur --
Thy Lord hath risen

Mystifying sweets
Searchable treasures for kids
Smiles reign forever

He would eat matzah
to honor the Exodus
of Jews from Egypt.

Scattered through the house,
Children finding all of them -
One crying, "Mine's cracked!"

Mom hides Easter eggs
Dad locates the camera
Kids with baskets laugh

Erupting crocus
Croaked divinity rising
Crocuses return

leaves them lots of treats

roll away the stone
ascending are the saints
ashes to ashes

chocolate surprises
happy children everywhere
been waiting a year

Easter? What is that?
Something to do with Jesus.
No one remembers.

"Good" Easter bunny... ?

Paintball is his game.
